Abstract

The issue of education for people with special needs is one of the few issues in the world. Therefore, attention should be given to these groups, since the proportion of people with special needs at the global and local level has become a significant proportion, it is also growing among the population of countries in general and developing countries in particular. The present research aims to develop a suggested educational scenario for applications of the augmented reality to be used and to reveal its effectiveness in developing the technological and motivational concepts of learning among students with hearing disabilities.
The research sample was selected from the first grade pupils with hearing disabilities in the hope schools for the deaf and the hearing impaired in the Fayoum governorate, and they reached (15) students. The semi-experimental approach was used to suit the nature of the research. The research tools consisted of a test of computer concepts and information technology for the three cognitive levels (remembering, understanding, applying) and the motivation for learning. All concepts of instructional content agreed upon have been formulated in the form of digital learning objects containing multimedia that support learning concepts and are translated in sign language.
The results indicated the effectiveness of augmented reality technology in the development of technological concepts and motivation for learning among students with hearing disabilities. The study recommended the need to train teachers with hearing disabilities to design and produce digital learning objects to contribute to the development of the curricula to interactive e-books using the augmented reality techniques equipped with all types of media suitable for this category and accompanied by the translation in sign language.
