The Effectiveness of Blended Learning in the Development of Power Point Program Skills and Social Interaction among Female Students of the Third Grade Secondary Commercial School

Abstract

The aim of the research is to investigate the effect of blended learning use on the development of using the Power Point program skills and the social interaction among third grade secondary commercial school female students, by answering the following questions:
1. What is the effect of Blended Learning use on the development of the Power Point program knowledge among third grade secondary commercial school female students?
2.  What is the effect of Blended Learning use on the development of the Power Point program skills among third grade secondary commercial school female students?
3. What is the effect of Blended Learning use on the development of the social interaction among third grade secondary commercial school students when studying Power Point program curriculum?
The research group consisted of (70) students of the third-grade secondary school in Al Maragha Commercial School, Sohag Governorate, for the academic year 2017/2018, who have computers and internet access at home and were distributed to the experimental and control groups equally, (35) students for the experimental group, and (35) students for the control group. The quasi experimental design was used to study the effectiveness of the independent variable (Blended Learning) that is represented in the combination of the educational website and the traditional method, on the two dependent variables which are the developing of Power Point program use skills, and the social interaction of third grade secondary commercial school students.
The tools of the research consisted of an achievement test for the cognitive side, observation card, and social interaction scale, and the results showed that the students of the experimental group who used Blended Learning were superior to their counterparts of control group who use the traditional method in Power Point program skills use, and the social interaction.
