Evaluation of the Experience of Distance Learning at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences for the international students of Al-Azhar University: Case Study

Abstract

The paper discusses the historical development of the establishment of the first Faculty of Islamic Studies for the expatriates at Al-Azhar University, which aims to teach Islamic and Arabic sciences to students from all over the world organized by the International Organization of Al-Azhar Alumni in cooperation with Al-Azhar University.
The objective of the current research is to present and evaluate the experience of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences for the expatriates in the distance learning system from the point of view of the students enrolled in the college and from the point of view of the faculty members prepared for the courses of the faculty and lecturers.
The researcher chose to apply his study to the students at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences for expatriates and they numbered (192). To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire according to the axes which are (electronic registration and admission system - electronic courses system - remote learning and communication management system - electronic tests system). The study tool and its stability according to the approved statistical methods. The researcher also used statistical methods to analyze the results to identify the significance of statistical differences based on the responses of the sample members.
The researcher reached a set of results, the most important of which was the presence of several positive aspects along with some shortcomings in the effectiveness of the electronic admission and registration system.
