University students' use of new media and its relationship to their exposure degree to online media crime: a field study

Abstract

Abstract
The study aimed to achieve the main objective: to identify the relationship between university studends' use of new media to their exposure degree to online media crime, this study belonged to descriptive studies, the researcher used the media survey method, and the questionnaire tool on an intentional sample of(374) students from Minia university and Deraya.
The main findings are as follows: there are statistical function differences between males and females in their rate of use of the new media in favour of males, and statistical differences between the students of minia university and the university of deraya in their exposure to online media crimes for students at the university of minia, the study results indicate that the degree of study sample use of the new media was(always) in first order(71.1%), the crime of violation of the right to private life was first ranked(46.57%), the reasons for the commission of online media crimes were(fame and desire to attract the spotlight) in the first place,(moral corruption)in the second, and that one of the most significant risks of online media crime was( moral hazard) in the first place,( psychological hazard) in the second place.
