Employing generative artificial intelligence applications to improve the quality of the final product of fashion design

Abstract

The research aims to open new horizons for the artistic and aesthetic vision of fashion design through generative artificial intelligence, while presenting a group of contemporary fashion designs with the least effort and in the shortest possible time. The semi-experimental approach was used, and the research sample consisted of implementing (20) fashion designs (evening dresses), implemented by second-level students in the Department of Home Economics - Faculty of Specific Education, Matrouh University (Fashion Design Course).

In addition to the product evaluation card (measuring fashion design skills) and a questionnaire to identify the opinions of the judges and reach the research results through statistical processing, where the research results showed the presence of a statistically significant difference at a significance level (0.05 ≥ α) between the average scores of the experimental group that uses (generative artificial intelligence), The average scores of the control group that used (the traditional manual method) in the post-application of the final product evaluation card for fashion design in the dimensions (achieving the foundations and elements of design, achieving the aesthetic aspects, achieving the innovative aspects, achieving the functional aspects, performance skills in design), and in the overall final product evaluation card for fashion design, in favor of the experimental group.
