Armenian music is distinguished from the music of neighboring Turkish and Persian countries by its beauty and special color, and it is also characterized by a folkloric character that expresses the culture of the Armenian people and their national heritage mixed with melodies that show a sadness stemming from the suffering of the Armenian people.
Among the Armenian composers who preserved the Armenian musical heritage is the composer Komitas Vardapet (1869:1935), who is considered the founder of the Armenian National School of Music and is also considered one of the musical figures who collected Armenian folk music and protected it from extinction.
Dance compositions represented a large percentage of the works of many composers, not only Komitas, during the various musical eras in general, starting from the sixteenth century, and took different names, and were used to express feelings in many joyful and sad, emotional and serious, and national occasions, so the researcher saw it necessary to shed light on the piano dances of the composer Komitas Vardabet for what they contain of technical skills and artistic characteristics that benefit piano students. The theoretical framework of the research dealt with previous studies related to the research topic, then a brief about Armenian music, piano dances, the composer Komitas Vardabet, and some of his most important works.
