Abstract

The research problem is based on the following questions: Did the material used (colored clay) add aesthetic value to the drawings of children's book covers? Did bas-relief artists benefit from the developments and innovations of the era in overcoming the accepted traditions in the uses of this art? Did the Egyptian artist "Sahar Salah" succeed in lending her experience on the local and Arab levels? Did the plastic treatments using colored clay in book arts differ from those using traditional drawings? The researcher assumed that the use of colored clay added aesthetic value in the field of drawings and children's book covers. He also assumed that the plastic treatments using colored clay in children and book covers differed. The current research aims to attempt to shed light on the experiences of Egyptian artists in the field of bas-relief sculpture. 2- Attempt to research the relationships that link the fields of plastic arts to each other (bas-relief sculpture - book arts) as a model. The current research followed the descriptive-analytical approach in reviewing the research procedures. The research results reached the following: The technique of sculpting using colored clay has added aesthetic values ​​to the covers and illustrations of children's books. The artist in the twenty-first century was able to benefit from the developments and innovations of the era in overcoming the known traditions in the field of children's book covers and illustrations.
