The Impact of Leaderboards in a Gamification Electronic Learning Environment on Developing Digital Transformation Skills Among Secondary School Teachers

Abstract

The study aimed to develop digital transformation skills among secondary school teachers by examining the impact of leaderboards in a e-learning environment based Gamification . The researchers adopted both the descriptive and experimental methodologies. The measurement tools included: (1) a cognitive test to assess the knowledge aspects related to digital transformation skills, and (2) a product evaluation rubric to measure the performance aspects of these skills. The study population consisted of all secondary school teachers, and the sample was selected randomly. The research tools were applied to a sample of 30 teachers. The results indicated that leaderboards in a Gamification electronic learning environment had a positive effect on enhancing both the cognitive and performance aspects of digital transformation skills. The study recommended the activation of leaderboards as an effective motivational tool and their integration as a core component in gamification strategies to enhance learner interaction and increase motivation for learning.
