Self-confidence and its relationship to anger management in a sample of university students

Abstract

The research aims to study the relationship between self-confidence with its axes (taking responsibility - social interaction - emotional balance) and anger management with its dimensions (avoidance - expressing anger - solving problems) among a sample of university students.

The research followed the descriptive analytical approach. The basic research sample consisted of (386) male and female university students from different social and economic levels. The research tools were applied to them, consisting of a general data form, a self-confidence questionnaire, and an anger management questionnaire. After collecting the data, it was classified and tabulated, and the appropriate statistical coefficients were used in the SPSS program to reach the results.

The most important results of the research were:

- There is a statistically significant positive correlation at( 0.01) between self-confidence of university students in its axes and their anger management in its dimensions.

- There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of male and female university students in both self-confidence and anger management.

- There is a statistically significant variance between the university students in the research sample in anger management according to the mother's education level in favor of the intermediate educational level.

- There is no statistically significant variance between the university students in the research sample in anger management in its dimensions according to the father's education level.

important recommendations of the research were: Activating the role of student activities within universities with the aim of enhancing their self-confidence and compatibility with their university life,
