Abstract

. the different Islamic eras, as “Islamic architecture is one of the most important areas of Islamic civilization, and it has enjoyed many innovations throughout its different eras; these innovations have added many aspects of beauty to it in addition to its functional dimensions. As a result, Islamic architecture has become distinguished by its many types, shapes and functions, and is unique in its types of decorations, which makes it an important part of architectural design and symbols that reflect many of the values of Islamic architecture.” The research idea was based on drawing inspiration from the elements of Islamic architecture to create contemporary lighting units in light of the Bauhaus thought. Islamic architecture is characterized by its diverse shapes, attractive colors, and decorations from which the artist derives different forms of formation. If we choose the buttoned cymbals unit, for example, as a formative element, in order to get the maximum benefit from it in reaching the forms of contemporary lighting units, on the basis that these cymbals are distinctive architectural elements, and they are also abstract architectural sculpture with a distinctive aesthetic form in Islamic architecture. Their formative capabilities can be utilized in achieving three-dimensional wooden lighting units in a contemporary way. Accordingly, the research problem can be defined in the following question: How can we benefit from the artistic capabilities of the elements of Islamic architecture as an introduction to creating contemporary wooden lighting units in light of the Creative Industries?
